Fall Leaves

This tree is in front of our office. Earlier this year they cut down another tree that was right next to this one and blocking most of the view of this tree. After it was gone, you could really appreciate the colors in this one.

Aunt Mary's Birthday Afghan

Here's another afghan I just finished. It's twice as wide as you see in the picture. This was made from 'I Love This Yarn' also. It is the Country Blue and Sierra Stripe. The block is the 12 inch Bold Square block from this website. http://dayna.tdgservices.com/Patterns.aspx I joined this one the same way that Kennedy's was done with the flat braid joining.

Here is Aunt Mary with her afghan last Sunday.

Kennedy's Afghan

Kennedy's afghan is finished. I made it from Hobby Lobby's 'I Love This Yarn' and it turned out really well. It's made from the same block pattern throughout and I'll put a link to the pattern later. I used flat braided joining that I first read about on http://www.priscillascrochet.net/freepatterns.html under edgings and joining. Then I found additional information on this site that was a revised version of Priscilla's joining instructions. This is YarnCrazy's Blog http://yarncrazy.blogspot.com/ She has a link to her afghan joining hints. The pattern for the block is also hers, Flower Burst. You'll find a link on her blog.

Colonial Flag Afghan for Lindsey

I thought I would post this picture of the afghan that I made for my wonderful daughter-in-law, Lindsey. It was based on a pattern in a Leisure Arts book though it does have some changes. She decorates in Americana and my son wanted me to make it with 13 stars instead of the 50 that the original pattern included.

First Produce

Here is Jack with the first potatos from the garden! The garden is doing really good. The zuchinni are doing terrific too! This weekend I was able to put up 12 jars of pickle relish and 4 jars of zuchinni relish. Earlier in the week we froze 12 quarts of chopped zuchinni.

When Jack picked me up from work on Friday, he brought along the first little bitty tomato that him and Mom found in the garden. We should have a lot more tomatos in just a little bit since Jack put out over 130 plants. I'll be making a lot of spaghetti sauce, that's for sure!
Here's Mom with one of the zuchinni. She's been a big help to Jack in the garden.Posted by Picasa

Ma Ma's little sweetheart

Well, Poppy went and did it today! Surprised me with a Nikon D80 camera. You could have bowled me over with a feather. So I have been snap happy! Here is our little sweetie, Kennedy. I think this is one of the best pictures I have ever taken.
